Mike Boyle aka “Philly Mike” has been in the car game for a long time. Shuffling though his fair share of cars, Mike ultimately settled down with a Volkswagen.
“I’m a 40 year old man who becomes a giggly teenager whenever the conversation about cars comes up. I honestly don’t know what side of my family I got the passion from because I don’t recall many family members being huge enthusiast. I’ve had many shares of cars but my most favorite vehicle is a Volkswagen. “
This 1998 Jetta GLX has been transformed to look like the European model but swapping out the bumpers, changing the door moldings, wheel arch flares, euro grill alongside many other things.
Mike didn’t stop there as he continued to add his own styling to his Mk3. Glow in the dark headliner, custom gauges to match his interior, and powder coating his 3 piece BBS RF wheels to match the cars paint which sits nice when he airs out his Airlift air ride suspension.
For a 20 year old car it still has 138k original miles and is designed for everyday usage. Mike isn’t afraid of any of the harsh east coast weather as his VR runs right through. With its modified transmission Mike’s silver arrow rips down highways in true VR fashion.
From riding around ocean city in his BMP Mk4 GLI to becoming a member of Volksnation, an ambassador of our following in the Philadelphia area, and eventually vice president, Mike’s good humor and knowledge of the culture makes him a beloved member of the team. A glove box full of cool shades and a crisp members only Dickie is how you’ll find Philly Mike roaring on the scene is his beautiful 1998 silver arrow Jetta GLX.
